Chewing tube

Chewing tube is a multi-purpose hose resistant to wear and oil, fuel and chemical fumes. Chewing tubes are made of polyurethane, and they use a copper-coated steel spiral as reinforcement. Chew hose is also known as polyurethane hose.

Chew hose, i.e. polyurethane hose

Polyurethane (PU) is a versatile rubber-like material often used in industry, which, however, is more durable than traditional rubbers. The material is very resistant to oils and fats, among other things, thanks to which polyurethane is said to combine the best properties of rubber and plastic. It is flexible, stretchy and bendable, resistant to abrasion and does not tear easily. The material is resistant to several oils, gasoline, kerosene and other oil-based chemicals.

Thanks to polyurethane, the chewing tubes are flexible and light in structure. They are also flexible and can therefore be shaped into tight curves. They also have excellent wear resistance and are less prone to abrasion, such as PVC plastic hoses. Chewing tubes are very resistant to oils, lead and grease, as well as many chemicals, except for acidic substances.

The chewing hose has many excellent features

The operating temperature of chewing hoses is -40ºC to +90ºC and they can withstand even higher temperatures for a short time. Chewing tubes therefore maintain their flexibility even at very low temperatures, and do not start to wear out even at high temperatures.

As the name suggests, the chewing hose is suitable for removing chewing gum or dust, for example. It is best suited for transporting lighter goods such as sawdust, dust or flour. However, the chewing hose is also commonly used as a suction and blowing hose for consumables and for transporting coarser goods such as pellets, wood chips or grain, as well as concrete or construction waste. It is also suitable for venting technical gases in the chemical and petrochemical industries. In addition to these examples, chewing hoses are also used for vacuuming and property maintenance machines.

Antistatic chewing tubes conduct electricity and are thus suitable for use in situations where static loading should be avoided, such as in the manufacture of electronic components or in the mining industry.
