EPDM hose

EPDM hose is a multipurpose universal rubber hose suitable for various industrial needs. It is a synthetic rubber made from ethylene and propylene. Hoses made of EPDM rubber, i.e. ethylene propylene rubber or ethylene propylene diene rubber, have a long life cycle, excellent weather and heat resistance, and good resistance to chemical substances.

Benefits of EPDM hose

Due to its excellent resistance to ozone, ethylene propylene rubber is known as "crack-free rubber", which tolerates wear and tear well. Compared to many other rubber or plastic hoses, EPDM hoses have the advantage of being less likely to crack or break, which also means they have a longer lifespan.

Thanks to good chemical resistance, the hoses tolerate mild acids, bases and detergents very well. Hoses made of EPDM rubber are also resistant to silicone oils, ketones, fats and alcohols.

Thanks to excellent weather resistance, EPDM hoses can withstand hot or cold temperatures, dryness or humidity for a long time. Thanks to the wide operating temperature range of the material, the hoses remain flexible even at low temperatures. The material also has excellent corrosion resistance.

What is EPDM hose used for?

EPDM rubber is particularly suitable for the needs of industries that require heat resistance, wear and chemical resistance, such as the marine or mining industries. Due to its properties, the hose is suitable for water and compressed air as well as for several industrial chemicals. EPDM hoses are widely used in industry, construction and various marine applications.

EPDM is also an excellent choice of material for, for example, drainage and discharge hoses. Due to its good acid resistance and other properties, it is suitable, for example, for the treatment of flue gases, condensate or other problematic substances.

EPDM rubber is also suitable for use with, for example, glycol-based brake fluids.

What are EPDM hoses not suitable for?

EPDM hoses have poor resistance to oils and solvents, and it is not recommended for use with, for example, crude oil, fuel oil or mineral oils. If you are looking for a hose for these uses, we recommend contacting our hose masters or checking out the entire range of our online store.
