SMS-connectors

SMS-connectors are connectors suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The inner surface of the joint is smooth, without gaps or holes, and is thus suitable for the needs of industry that requires a high level of hygiene due to its structure. The connectors are popular food connectors. The advantages of the connectors also include their ease of use, low need for maintenance, resistance to high stress and wear and tear, and tolerance to high temperatures or high pressure. 

SMS comes from the words Swedish Manufacturin Standrad. SMS connectors are also known as dairy connectors, and many breweries and Meijers use these connectors. 

The SMS connection consists of a female and male connector, a seal and a nut. The male connector has a recess where the seal is placed. The connector is assembled by first placing the faces of the connectors opposite each other, then pulling the nut over the end of the female connectors onto the male connector. Finally, the nut is tightened by hand or with a spanner. Due to its compact design, the connection is suitable for use in, for example, permanently installed pipelines. However, the parts of the connectors are Heppo easy to separate from each other and are thus also suitable for use in processes that require parts to be separated from each other frequently. The SMS connection is welded into place.
