The practices in connectors are very different. Companies pay the price for it with cumbersome hose management. In history, the choice of connectors has been guided by availability and the device manufacturer's preference for a specific connector. Today, however, the availability of almost all basic connectors is reasonably good. However, due to history, in many companies the connector types are unnecessarily variegated.
