Hose clamps
Hose clamps are parts that are used to attach the hose to the fitting and help create a tight, even and reliable connection. They squeeze the hose tightly against the connector inside the hose and thus prevent the hose from coming loose or leaking fluid.
When choosing a hose clamp, it is important to consider at least the following:
-
- Hose size: The most important thing is to choose the right size hose clamp for the size of the hose.
- Hose material: There are different types of hose clamps for different hose materials, such as steel hoses, rubber or plastic hoses.
- Tightening force: The tightening force of hose clamps must meet the needs of the hose and connector. Clamps with very high compression force are not recommended for soft hoses, which will not damage the hose.
- Installation: Some hose clamps are very easy to use and easy to install, for example by hand. Some of the hose clamps require the screws in the clamps to be tightened. When installing the clamps, be careful not to tighten them too much, so that the clamp is not damaged.
- Clamp type: There are different types of hose clamps for different needs. For example, the so-called double clamps are tightened alternately from both sides of the clamp, which enables even tightening. In this way, the pressure is not applied to just one point, which prevents damage from occurring. These work as good universal clamps for connections of demanding objects and challenging conditions, such as water and compressed air hoses, hydraulic suction hoses or hoses for tank trailers.
Hose clamps are very important parts in creating tight joints. The right clamp matches the hose and connector and corresponds to the working pressure and strain required by the application. If choosing the right hose clamp makes you think, we will help!
